Adventure mystery I don't read a lot of books, because I get bored with them, however this book was riveting and intriguing. The story kept me interested and the adventure was good. The story took some turns that caught me off guard. The ending was something that I was not expecting. Read the whole book and enjoyed it.

A Great Read Add a little history, a cool name like Obloo, a few twists and turns and a shipwreck and you have a book you cannot put down. Looking forward to the next book.

A VERY enjoyable read!! I just finished reading this book and want other potential buyers to know just how entertaining the story was. I found myself on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next. Plenty of surprises and plot twists. I loved it and, as another reviewer commented, this story really should be adapted to the Big Screen. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel.

Great book! I loved this story and how this mystery unraveled and how the characters unfolded. This book is packed with adventure and mystery. I enjoyed the mystery of the sunken ship and the missing coins that don’t really exist! This is a great weekend read. I hope Rusty, the three legged cat sticks around for future stories. He kind of tugged on my heartstrings. I’m looking forward to reading more stories!

Must read 🏆 An enthralling narrative that draws you into the lives of ordinary people as they embark on an exhilarating treasure hunt

Emma Morgan and her boyfriend, Jack Harvey, find themselves on a dangerous adventure in their attempt to unveil the secret long lost in the ocean. For these two, it all begins when Emma finds a mysterious receipt, and once curiosity gets the better of her, she involves Jack, who then calls upon his best friend, Chet, and soon enough, the search begins. Except they’re not alone in this endeavor. They are being followed, of course, by people who’d do anything to get a hold of the 1933 gold double eagle coins believed settled under the sea’s bottom when the Majestic Meridian ship sank many years ago.

Steven P. Gower’s Secrets of the Majestic Meridian is about ordinary people caught up in their ordinary lives until they’re interrupted and plunged deep into a pursuit both dangerous and rewarding. Chet and his favorite cat, Rusty, love the feel of water underneath them. Emma would pedal to work and loves Jack. But then the landscape changes for them, and they have to adapt to not only survive but also get the reward that awaits ahead. Interestingly, the entire story finds a solid foundation in one man’s mistake, reaffirming that sometimes the small, innocent mistakes we make in life can grow into something bigger, even bigger than we anticipated. What Jennings Filmore did or didn’t on that fateful night of 1st April 1933, outlives him, and defies time as well, eventually changing lives.

On characterizations, Gower got it right. Rusty the cat is to be remembered, given the story its owner gladly shares about it. Jack proves not only intelligent but also a guy capable of taking care of himself. Emma’s courage and determination make her a character to love and follow. Chet is a funny guy, one with a smile on his face, and resourceful too.

Regarding the plot, again, Gower gives his best shot. He begins the story in 1933, establishing a solid foundation before transitioning to the present. Breadcrumbs are hard to find, which makes the Emma-led team up their game. Just when they think they’ve found the remains of Majestic Meridian in the deep waters, it turns out the hunt is far from over. Just after they’ve found a ledger detailing crucial transactions, an important page is missing. Just when the enemy is defeated, it turns out there’s another enemy, whom the reader couldn’t have anticipated. In other words, the plot has the twists and turns any reader would look out for.

Overall, this book is a must-read. It unfolds like a treasure hunt, filled with high stakes and surprises at every turn. More of Jack and Emma to come, a promise any reader will look forward to, especially after reading Secrets of the Majestic Meridian.

Book Review

Official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Secrets of the Majestic Meridian"

The Secrets of the Majestic Meridian by Steven P. Gower is an action-packed and suspenseful crime thriller with a lot of mystery throughout the storyline. The author’s descriptive writing style allowed me to visualize the massive storms, the neglected abandoned warehouse, and the various diners with their unique decors, to name a few. The character development made me curious about each character’s next moves. The suspense continued as additional characters (e.g., underworld coin dealers, thieves, police officers, Secret Service agents, etc.) entered the storyline. Rick and Tick kept me laughing because no matter what they did, it would turn into a disaster for them and their boss. My favorite aspect of this book was the life lessons the treasure hunters learned.

The only flaw in this book is the lack of professional editing by the publishing company.

Although the book contains several errors, they did not affect my reading enjoyment. I encountered no other negative aspects that would have made it necessary to deduct any more stars from my rating, as the plot flowed smoothly, and the author’s writing skills kept the mystery and suspense flowing throughout the storyline. All of this justifies my rating of 4 out of 5 stars, deducting one star for the errors.

If you enjoy reading about shipwrecks and hidden treasures, you will not be disappointed by this book, as it is full of adventure, mystery, and suspense.
